Inflatable Repairs Slide Covers and Entrance Steps

Slide covers are the areas of vinyl, mesh or netting that is sewn over the high point of the slide to keep courageous sliders from nose-diving or leaping forward unto the sliding section. Slide covers are also referred to as the strip of slippery vinyl lining used on top of the sliding portion of a slide.
Many times a jumping participant will hold on to the overhead cover of a slide while lunging forward and cause it to rip. A repair of this type does not require a rocket scientist. However, since a slide by its very nature is extremely heavy, the procedure utilized to sew the damaged section of a slide cover back unto the slide can be daunting. You must place this huge slide unto a large table adjacent to a heavy duty, commercial sewing machine. Then you must pull the section of the slide to be reconnected through the sewing machine arm. This requires lots of labor. You cannot merely repair a combo or slide on the ground.
Now ask your self this question, how many persons will it require to lift a combo or slide on top of a table and spread it out so that you are able to pull the damaged section to be repaired under a sewing machine arm? A few plus the sewing technician will be required.
Once again, please understand that a repair of an inflatable is not merely sewing two pieces of vinyl material flat together as is done on tents or awnings. Much goes into the manufacturing of a jumper. Your local awning or tent repair shops are simply not qualified to repair an inflatable. This has been proven time after time by complaints, and super slides and combos we repair after they’ve been supposedly repaired by some local ‘shade tree repair shop’.
